Frequently Asked Questions

OVERVIEW OF SERVICES

A virtual visit is a safe, convenient way to connect with a Siskiyou Community Health Center provider using your mobile device or computer.

Yes. We will have virtual visits with patients of all ages.

Our providers can call in medication to your pharmacy in accordance with state laws and when medically necessary. We cannot refill controlled medications (narcotic pain medications, benzodiazepines, etc.) during a walk-in clinic visit. Please contact your primary care provider for these refills.

Virtual visits are available Monday – Friday from 8:00am – 5:00pm and Saturday from 9:00am – 1:00pm.

COST, BILLING & INSURANCE

A walk-in clinic virtual visit is $49. This cost does not include the cost of any medications, follow-up lab work or follow-up visits if deemed applicable. If we determine that a virtual visit is not appropriate for your condition, you will not be charged for your visit. We will help you locate a more appropriate place to receive care (e.g. urgent care, emergency care).

Virtual visits with your provider are billed the same as a regular in-person office visit.

We take most insurance plans and many of them do cover this service, including AllCare. If you are unsure of your benefits, please contact your insurance prior to an appointment. If you provide us with insurance information, we will bill your insurance. Any amount not covered by insurance will be billed to you.

Yes.  If you are an established patient, and you have already qualified for our Sliding Discount Program, the visit will be discounted the same as an office visit.  If you are a new patient, or do not have an active slide application, you may complete an application on our website. All documentation must be received and eligibility determined before the appointment in order for the discount to apply.

You will have the opportunity to make your copayment during registration for your virtual visit. Any unpaid balance due will be billed to you.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

You will need a computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone with a webcam, microphone and access to the internet. You will need to use Chrome, Safari or Firefox as your browser.

We recommend testing your device prior to your appointment.

REGISTRATION AND APPOINTMENT

Call (541) 472-4777 to schedule an appointment. Prior to your appointment, you will receive a link by text and/or email to register and join the visit.

Walk-in clinic virtual visits are available to those located in the state of Oregon for acute, non-emergency medical conditions. To reserve your spot on the walk-in clinic schedule, click on the walk-in clinic link on our virtual visit page and follow the instructions. Patients will be seen on a first come, first serve basis.

Three days before your scheduled appointment, you will receive a text or email reminder to confirm your appointment. To view the appointment provider and location, you will need to click on the link of the text.  To confirm, select the Confirm Appointment button.

If you do not confirm your appointment, our staff will attempt to reach you by phone two days before and will provide you with a courtesy call one day prior if still unconfirmed. If we do not receive a response by 3:00pm the day before your appointment, it will be cancelled.

Whether you confirm your appointment through text or email or with one of our schedulers, you will still receive a text or email one day prior to your appointment.  This notification serves as a final reminder as well as a link to pre-register. Pre-registering allows you to complete the registration process from the comfort of your home on your own personal device. You will be asked to confirm your personal information and update changes in address, insurance, etc.  You will also be able to make a payment if there is a balance due.

If you choose not to pre-register, we ask that you arrive 15 minutes early for your appointment to complete registration in-office. The process will be the same, but we will provide you with a device to complete the process.

Our staff are always available to assist and answer questions regarding the registration process. Please call 541-295-8062 if you need assistance.

We ask patients to arrive 15 minutes before their scheduled appointment time.  This allows ample time to complete your registration, if you did not complete it at home, and gives us an opportunity to answer any questions you may have.

To process your visit, we will need to confirm your demographics, insurance information, and provide you with updated policies/forms as needed at each visit you schedule. Our pre-registration process makes this a fast and easy experience. If you do not complete the pre-registration, you will be asked to complete it in our office either on the tablet or paper version.
