POSITION SUMMARY: The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with the Chief Human Resources Officer to support Siskiyou Community Health Center’s various departments and locations. This position carries out responsibilities in benefits administration, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, affirmative action and employment law compliance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Creates or updates job descriptions and postings for newly created or vacated positions. Ensures postings are current on company website and job boards.
  • Conducts full cycle recruiting at all sites as directed. Maintains applicant materials.
  • Assists with employee onboarding, new hire paperwork and conducts facility tours.
  • Monitors and maintains performance review process, sends monthly reminders and revises as needed.
  • Maintains and updates employee contact information for companywide notification system.
  • Maintains current knowledge of changes in federal and state regulations relating to Human Resources and SCHC.
  • Serves as back-up for payroll processing, benefit orientation and administration.
  • Compiles personnel data for reports as requested. Reviews and maintains personnel data as needed for events such as hiring, termination, leaves or promotions.
  • Supports maintenance of affirmative action program; maintains records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
  • Maintains and coordinates employee recognition programs such as new hire and anniversary announcements.
  • Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed.
  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
  • Maintains strictest confidentiality.
  • Assists Chief Human Resources Officer with other projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent education required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business Administration preferred.
  • Three to five years’ human resource experience required.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred or ability to attain in one year.
