Dan McDonnell, PMHNP, Director of Behavioral Health Services
Dan began his career with a strong interest in Mind/Body or Holistic Medicine while earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Bradley University almost 40 years ago. He attained an Associates Degree in Nursing from Lake County Community College and a Master’s of Science Degree from Rush Presbyterian St. Luke University and Medical Center in Chicago. He has worked in various roles including Psychiatric Technician, Mental Health Counselor, Mental Health Clinical Supervisor, Behavioral Medicine Therapist and Psychiatric Nurse. He current practices as a Board Certified Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and is the Director of Behavioral Health Services at Siskiyou Community Health Center.
Interests include Complementary and Alternative Medicine, Neurofeedback, Optimal Performance and Humanistic Psychology which strives to help people fulfill their potential and maximize wellbeing. This focus encourages a self awareness and mindfulness that helps the client change their state of mind and behavior to more productive (adaptive) self-awareness and thoughtful actions.
