Jennifer Johnstun, Chief Quality Officer
Jennifer Johnstun joined Siskiyou Community Health Center in January 2020 as the Chief Quality Officer. Jennifer came to Siskiyou with a passion for improving the quality of healthcare services. Prior to joining Siskiyou, Jennifer spent 11 years at PrimaryHealth, a local Medicaid Coordinated Care Organization (CCO). At PrimaryHealth, Jennifer acted as Health Strategy Officer, with responsibility for oversight of the CCO transformation plan, quality improvement, CCO quality metrics, and population health initiatives.
Jennifer is a fifth-generation Southern Oregon native. She attended Oregon State University and then received Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Oregon Health and Science University-Portland in 2001. In her first years, she worked as a pediatric acute care nurse in the Portland area before returning home to Southern Oregon in 2006. In 2008, Jennifer took her first position in healthcare quality at PrimaryHealth. While at PrimaryHealth, Jennifer led several projects focused on areas such as implementation of a Maternal Medical Home, Community Health Workers, and integration of behavioral health and substance use disorder services throughout the CCO network. Jennifer is a member of the Council of Clinical Innovators, which included a year-long fellowship with the Oregon Health Authority where she focused on a health system transformation project aimed at reducing the use of high dose opioids in Southern Oregon.
Jennifer serves as a Director on the Three Rivers School Board. She is married and has two children. She enjoys traveling with her family and three dogs, yoga, and gardening.
