Cave Junction, OR– Siskiyou Community Health Center is proud to partner with the Illinois Valley Fire District in providing Stop the Bleed kits for every classroom in the Illinois Valley. Stop the Bleed is a national awareness campaign and call to action intended to cultivate efforts that encourage bystanders to become trained, equipped and empowered to help in a bleeding emergency before professional help arrives.
Siskiyou Community Health Center donated the funds needed to purchase the bleed kits for the Illinois Valley schools which includes North Valley High School, Lorna Byrne Middle School, and Evergreen Elementary. Illinois Valley Fire District will install and provide the training for the staff at these schools.
40% of world-wide trauma-related deaths are due to bleeding or its consequences. It’s important that teachers and staff at these schools feel empowered to help in case of a bleeding emergency.
