Position Summary

The Nurse Manager provides clinical leadership, operational oversight, and professional development for nursing staff across our Grants Pass and Cave Junction clinics. This role promotes a culture of servant leadership by engaging with clinical teams in visible, hands-on ways while advancing nursing practice, improving patient access, and supporting organizational excellence.

The Nurse Manager serves as a clinical resource, mentor, and strategic leader, helping strengthen nursing workflows, expand nurse-led services, improve quality outcomes, and support value-based care initiatives.

What You’ll Do

Lead and Develop Nursing Teams

  • Mentor, coach, and support nursing staff in their professional growth.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and patient-centered care.
  • Build strong relationships with nurses, medical assistants, providers, and clinic leaders.
  • Participate in recruitment, onboarding, retention, and succession planning efforts.
  • Maintain an active presence within both clinics and support staff through hands-on leadership.

Advance Clinical Excellence

  • Oversee nursing workflows, clinical protocols, and standards of practice.
  • Improve nurse triage processes to ensure safe, timely, and effective care.
  • Standardize nurse visit protocols that improve patient access and outcomes.
  • Serve as a clinical resource for complex patient care situations.
  • Collaborate with providers to optimize team-based care delivery.

Improve Population Health Outcomes

  • Expand nurse-led chronic disease management programs.
  • Support evidence-based care pathways and standing orders.
  • Utilize population health data to improve outcomes for high-risk patient populations.
  • Partner with providers to help nurses practice at the top of their license.

Innovate Care Delivery

  • Develop and expand provider extender models utilizing registered nurses.
  • Create workflows that support independent nurse visits within regulatory guidelines.
  • Improve patient access through nurse-led services and care management programs.
  • Support value-based care initiatives and alternative payment models.

Ensure Quality and Compliance

  • Maintain compliance with nursing standards, Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) requirements, and state and federal regulations.
  • Participate in quality improvement, risk management, and patient safety activities.
  • Monitor clinical documentation and workflow compliance.
  • Support organizational readiness for audits and regulatory reviews.

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • Current Oregon Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Minimum five years of progressive nursing experience in ambulatory care, primary care, or Federally-Qualified Health Center (FQHC) settings.
  • Minimum three years of leadership or supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in nursing, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or related field.
  • Experience with nurse triage, care management, chronic disease management, and population health programs.
  • Experience with team-based primary care and value-based care models.
  • Prior FQHC experience.

  • Improve outcomes for patients with chronic conditions.
  • Strengthen nursing competency, accountability, and clinical excellence.
